Wonder Woman’s mother once told her, “You are stronger than you believe. You have greater powers than you know.”
While this is a message I believe all women should hear, it’s especially important to me that my two young girls at home know this. My goal as a father is to inspire them to always reach for their goals and to be whoever they want to be – superheroes included.
Luckily, they have their awesome mother and a lot of other strong, smart, fearless women to look up to, including Spartan women.
At Spartan, we’re a gender-neutral brand. Men and women compete with each other and, in many cases, Spartan women crush the men out on the course. I’ve learned so much from watching these women compete and speaking with them about their goals, challenges, and achievements. These women are superheroes in their own right, and here’s why:
Spartan Women are fearless
Obstacle course races don’t scare them, and life’s challenges don’t defeat them. They don’t run away from their fears; they face them head-on.
Spartan Women Persevere
They know that life is filled with challenges and that failures are not permanent. Rather than letting mistakes or problems run them off course, they learn from those setbacks and improve.
Spartan Women Believe in Themselves
Even when others may think they’re crazy, Spartan women march to the beat of their own drum. They do not hide who they are, and they do not let others define what they are capable of doing.
Spartan Women are Strong
You’ve heard the saying that behind every strong man, there’s a strong woman. But here’s the reality, a woman does not need a man to make her strong.
I think Spartan women say it best: they are the ones who give birth to Spartan men.
Do you have what it takes to be a Spartan woman? I bet you do!

I am a avid believer in everything in the article about Spartan Women. Took me a long time, then I arrived at a place in my life that Spartan has continued to fuel…yes, I am 62 years old, took me a while to learn the life lessons, now I will never stop….taking care of me first to be the strongest I can be….emotionally & physically….Life is short…I am enjoying every day….I am not an elite racer, except in my own head….So Cal Beast(s) is just around the corner….I will be there! AROOOOOO!
Hell hath no fury like a woman at the starting line of a Spartan Race!
