My name is Patrick Bautista, and I am 19 years old. You and Spartan have changed my life. I ran my first race in 2017 in Chicago, where I reside. I was so pumped at this new found way of life that I recruited my best friend, Brendan. Together, we completed a Spartan Trifecta in 2018. From there, we gathered a group of 16 friends (including 2 dads), and trained for half a year in preparation for the 2019 Chicago Sprint. Every person crossed the finish line that day, and told me that the race had changed their lives. It was different for everyone, the reason why. Some of us wanted a new challenge; some wanted an excuse to get in better shape. But about a month before our race in June, something happened. The team and I came to the realization that we were truly blessed beyond belief. We were graced by God with hands, feet, and lungs. We had the privilege and ability to push ourselves. It was only through months of rigorous training that the whole team gradually came to know and love pain. And by setting the goal of Spartan glory and the finish line, all the pain, training, and suffering was worth it. Our current 2020 year has changed drastically with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, but our new team is still doing live Zoom workouts and communicating through social media. This year’s team is 25 boys and girls, most who are juniors & seniors in high school, as well as 3 college aged kids. I have had the privilege to organize these Spartan teams, and they are truly inspiring for me. I love working with my fellow teammates and pushing everyone (including myself) to the limits.
How Joe Helped Me
Robert J Badzmierowski
Hello Joe.
My name is Robert Badzmierowski of 254 East Street, Uxbridge, MA. I wanted to introduce myself to you. I read two of your books in the last year (The Spartan Way and Spartan Fit). I have always been an athlete. I coach baseball and basketball. people have always told me I am extreme as i have run in 100 degree weather and biked 60 miles in a day in 95 degree weather amoung other things. A friend that owns a cross fit business gave me your first book, and I read it in a week and loved kit. He then gave me the Spartan Fit book and I decided to do the 30 day challenge. After 30 days, I said lets do 60, then after 60, I said lets do 90. Well as my story goes after about 180 days I decided to do 365 days in a row. Today September 1, 2020 I just finished 364 days. As long as I wake up alive tomorrow, I will complete 365 days in a row without any stops. I have done army crawls in the snow to running on ice with spikes on ice to doing 300 pushups a day while working out 3 times a day. I got an infection from a cut I got when I was on 310 days and I would not let it stop me and still sick as a dog did 100 pushups. I was schedule to do my first Spartan race in Charlton, MA but that was canceled do to the pandemic and then I was going to do the Spartan race in Vermont in September this year but that has been canceled as well. I was accepted to a Spartan Group on facebook but have since canceled my facebook account as I had my SSI compromised. I am writing to appeal to you to see if you could give me special Spartan member for doing the 365 day challenge as their is no Spartan race to do untill 2021. People have now stoped telling me im crazy for doing the things I have done in your books and have told me how much I have inspired them. Players from my basketball team and baseball team have sent me letters and text me and told me how much I have been a roll model to the. Thank you so much for the books you wrote and I look forward to hearing from you.
